I chose this picture for my New Years picture because on January 31, 2014 it will be the Chinese New Year of the Green Wood Horse.  It's going to be a great year for me because I was born during a wood horse year.  I also ate my black eyed peas today to bring in prosperity in the new year.
why do I do something so superstitious when I believe so much in spirituality?  The reason is that we are programmed to certain superstitions so it is easier for us to believe they will get us what we want faster.  The consciousness of thought is very powerful when a number of people already have it.
 It is why the term God is so important even though I don't believe in a Judeo-Christian God.  The term God has been around since the beginning of time so the power of the word representing a powerful being is locked in our consciousness.  And if you can associate it with positive meanings so much the better.
